Yesterday we celebrated Aggelos’s first birthday with friends and family. We spent a “noisy” afternoon surrounded by “screaming” Alex and “broken-hearted” Lilly who were trying to play with the same toy as if there were no other toys around. Aggelos, always joyful and smiling, didn’t pay attention to this “childish” attitude and continued to show off that he knows how to walk! He seemed very proud in front of his gorgeous piano birthday cake and he blew out his first candle with Anne’s help. We would like to warmly thank all of our friends and family for having been with us and for the numerous presents they gave Aggelos.

Hier nous avons fêté le premier anniversaire d’Aggelos avec des amis et notre famille. Nous avons passé un après-midi “bruyant” entourés par Alex “le hurleur à tue-tête” et Lilly “le coeur brisé” qui essayaient de jouer avec le même jouet comme s’il n’y avait pas d’autres jouets autour d’eux. Aggelos, toujours joyeux et souriant, ne faisait pas attention à cette attitude “puérile” et continuait son m’a-tu-vu show pour montrer comme il sait marcher !  Il paraissait très fier devant son superbe gâteau d’anniversaire en forme de piano, et il a soufflé sa première bougie avec l’aide d’Anne. Nous souhaitons remercier vivement tous nos amis et notre famille d’avoir fêté ça avec nous et pour les innombrables cadeaux qu’ils ont offerts à Aggelos.

According to the orthodox calendar, Aggelos’s name day is celebrated on November 8 (Archangel Michael’s and Gabriel’s principal feast day). So, once again, this gave us the opportunity to have a marvellous afternoon with some of our Greek friends today, Saturday the 10th. As usual, Alexandros claimed ownership of the presents received by Aggelos but, soon, his little brother will be able to defend himself !!!

Conformément au calendrier orthodoxe, la fête onomastique d’Aggelos est célébrée le 8 novembre (elle correspond à la fête principale des Archanges Michael et Gabriel). Ainsi, une fois de plus, ceci nous a donné l’occasion de passer un merveilleux après-midi avec quelques-uns de nos amis grecs ce samedi 10 novembre. Comme d’habitude, Alexandros s’est approprié des cadeaux reçus par Aggelos, mais, assez vite, son petit frère sera en mesure de se défendre !!!
